The Joke's On You is a quirky comedy about Davina (Victoria Muldoon) and Mark (Liam Bewley), a couple living in Central London with their cat Mimi who are locked in the middle of an increasingly extreme prank war.

Will their relationship survive it? Heck, will they?

Written by Muldoon and directed  by Katie Smith, The Joke's On You leans toward what we've come to expect from British comedy, sharp dialogue and subtle yet pointed wit along with performances that underplay the quirkiness of it all.

If you're looking for non-stop laughfest, you may find yourself a tad disappointed as Muldoon's dialogue is far too intelligent to go for cheap laughs, while both Muldoon and Bewley make the laughs hit home harder by also making the relationship a believable one.

Brian Strange's lensing is light and spirited, while the original music by Neil Myers bounces along quite nicely with the film's quirky, fun spirit.

The Joke's On You was only recently completed and is getting ready for its film festival run. It should have no problem finding a home on the indie and microcinema fest circuit. If you get a chance, definitely check it out.
