Reminisce is a just under 12-minute dramatic short that has proven to be a popular festival short since its world premiere at the Oscar-qualifying LA Shorts over a year ago. Written by and starring Ashna Sharan with direction by Leslie Morris, Reminisce finds its power in a world of interracial, age-gap relationships. A young woman, Monica (Sharan), has her world turned upside down when her husband's college classmates visit leading to internal explorations of her own marriage, love, sacrifice, and the very grey areas that exist in all relationships.

Sharan acknowledges that the story is based upon her own experiences. Between Sharan's precise, insightful dialogue and Morris's ability to gently explore that dialogue's nuances, Reminisce comes powerfully to life further aided by a strong ensemble cast that also includes Wayne Jay as Brian, Roger Gutierrez as Patrick, and Elisa Nixon as Diana. It's clear that both Sharan and Morris were able to communicate their vision for the film to a terrific ensemble cast.

Morris, who has a background as a camera operator on such familiar series as Grey's Anatomy and Terminal List among others, has crafted a compellingly told short film that all involved hope will transform into an even more compelling feature.

Lensing by Mario Mastromarino is effective throughout and complemented nicely by Rikiya Iwato's original score. Kudos as well for Victoria Gongora's immersive yet ever so slightly suffocating production design.

If you get a chance, definitely check it out.
