The Idea

When you think of Jamaica, do you imagine quiet, exotic beaches, a warm breeze, and a cool drink? Most people do, but for LGBT Jamaicans, a completely different reality exists. In a nation considered one of the most homophobic places on earth, gay men are forced to go underground to protect their own lives and lesbians risk corrective rape at the hands of angry mobs.


We're going to Jamaica to tell the stories of the brave men and women who speak out against the violence, of LGBT leaders who risk everything and we'd love for you to join us on our journey.


When Is This Happening?

We're planning to spend the month of May filming in Jamaica.

What difference can a little documentary make? We think it can make all the difference in the world.  To give a group of people a voice is to give them power. Power to shift opinions, power to galvanize emotions and actions, power to give you a look into a world you'd never thought you would experience.
