"You Know My Name" Review |
 |
A musical comedy short inspired by a Beatles tune only diehard fans will recognize, "You Know My Name" centers on a lonely young woman (Betty Taylor) who finds herself checking out a particularly unique male prospect at a most unusual dating agency. The young man (Angel Connell) seems to have multiple personalities, and the woman fast forwards her way through the young man's eccentricities and less desirable personalities until she comes across a personality that she finds desirable.
Connell, whose mind seemingly celebrates unusual themes and imagery, creates a unique vision to this most unusual song and manages to create a video that leaves a lasting impression long past its 6-minute runtime. While the production quality in "You Know My Name" is a notch below Connell's other films, Connell has a strong screen presence and clearly enjoys the opportunity to play multiple "roles." Betty Taylor, as well, shines as the lonely young woman whose life may or may not be changed by the decisions she makes here.
